NAMI Douglas County Fundraiser – https://www.namiwalks.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.team&teamID=57117
May 20th, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will have a nation wide Walkathon to raise money for the education, support and advocacy of people living with mental health conditions. The Douglas County NAMI chapter is doing a virtual walk to support our local efforts to support and improve the lives of people living with mental health conditions in our area.
Activities our local NAMI group provide are a monthly support meeting, Family-to-Family classes for families and loved ones of individuals with a mental illness, support to Douglas County Mental Health Court and the Chadwick Clubhouse, participating in committees in our county that strive to help people with mental health challenges, and providing educational classes in our schools to help students, staff and parents know how to recognize, help and advocate for students with mental health conditions.
Anyone wishing to support our local NAMI chapter may do so through the NAMI Walkathon either through the NAMI Douglas County Facebook page or at https://www.namiwalks.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.team&teamID=57117
